Rider participating at the SSWC

The Single Speed World Championship, will be held on Saturday August 27th in Ballyhoura, Co. Limerick.

SSWC is an annual event and is only open to bicycles with a single gear ratio. Those bicycles can be either singlespeeds or fixies. Most of the bicycles used in these races are mountain bikes. However, many people take part in the race on cyclo-cross bicycles, racing bicycles and bicycles defying easy categorization.

The SSWC is the most colourful cycling event on the planet and if you dare to enter than you better have your costume ready!!! Remember anyone can enter and this is the only world championships that anyone can enter without previously qualifying. It is a free for all and wait till you see the welcome that awaits you in Ireland. It is time to take this craziness to another level.

Unlike most World Championship bicycle races, the SSWC is not sanctioned by any cycling governing body, which we love :) Let’s make 2011 the most fun year yet. Anyone say insane leprechauns let loose on the SSWC 2011.
